Hair transplants have been around for a long time for dealing with one’s hair loss. Transplants are right for some people and not for others. Basically it is just a matter of doing the math and looking at one’s annual rate of hair loss. If you are eventually going to have a balding area that is 6×8 inches or approximately 48 square inches, will you have enough donor hair to make a difference on top. The most common complaint I hear about one’s transplants are that they can not get enough hair. We have clients who previously have had 4 session performed on them and still are not happy with their transplants because they just have a very, very light density. Now that they have had the Virtual Reality process performed on them, they have the look that they originally wanted. Keep in mind that transplants are surgery and they are cannot be reversed. Clients have told us that having transplants was the biggest mistake they every had in their life. Don’t be misled. Transplant surgery is serious stuff. It is a lifetime decision.

We have lots of clients who had transplants before coming to Dermatex to help with their hair loss. Some of the clients had up to five sessions of transplants and were not satisfied. Most were performed correctly. There are some horrible scars on some that went in for hair restoration. The vast majority of the complaints are that they could just not get enough density to cover up the fact that they had transplants. Or to cover up the balding area. It is basically a matter of math. If you have a large recipient area, in most cases, you cannot get more than 10 to 20 percent density. Just do the math. Hair does not spread out like grass. Transplants are not able to be reversed. If you have an outcome that you are happy with you are stuck with that outcome for the rest of your life. Many of our current clients wish they had never had transplants. They say it was the worst decision they had made in their life. Luckily, we were able to give them the look they had been seeking. We have seen transplants performed on very young people for their hair loss. Teens and early twenties. Most likely they were going to lose most or all of their hair on top. You have to consider your annual rate of loss. We believe that the surgery should never have been performed on these people. They are stuck with their choice the rest of their life.
